For the finished version of birds I decided to make the birds motions more fluid and natural looking so that in some instances it can be hard to tell what is edited and what is not.
In the rough version of this clip I just used the bleachers and played with the frame rate and orientation, but I felt that there needed to be more variety, so I added a series of images taken through metal chair backs which breaks up the original clip nicely.
Time source clip was taken: 12:30pm (bleachers), 2:00pm (metal chairs)March 8, 2008
I wasn't very satisfied with the global clip from before, so I went in a very different direction with it and decided to use only the section with steam, and played with reversing time. It ended up looking pretty cool I think.
I was very pleased with being able to capture these birds. I tried to get as close as I could to them without scaring them. They didn't seem to mind me being there too much. My goal in this clip was to exaggerate all their motions.
This clip is a blending of my two capturing strategies. Both elements are displayed here, and one segment captures both being blown by the wind and seeing through something else.
Here is a clip composed from a single still image. The picture was taken through a garbage can and I tried to give a sense of being behind it and trying to see what was beyond.
Here is a blending of some of the clips I gathered of things that were being blown by the wind. In this I tried to give a sense of the variation in wind speed throughout my excursion.
